Little Austinmer Beach near Wollongong

“Hey what do you wanna do today?”
“Let’s go to the beach!”
“But we just bathed them last week after going to the beach”
“But Jessie and Zani had so much fun….”
“Alright….”

It’s crazy that how much your paw pal changes your life, your routine and your hobbies. Our every weekend always involve dogs, and mostly near the water cause we have a labrador and a border collie.
We have been to quite a few off-leash beaches in the past year (I might post more about them), I think Little-Austinmer is our favourite so far.
Direction
It’s about 1-1.5 hour drive from the city. It’s right by the Austinmer beach. And it wouldn’t pop up if you put in ‘Little-Austinmer beach’, so you have to put in ‘Austinmer beach’ and look right next to it. If the ocean is on your right hand side, turn right onto Headland Ave, and turn right again and you will get to the car park. The car park can get quite full in the summer, you can go earlier in the day to avoid.

We go to Little Austinmer Beach throughout the year, no matter what season it is. It’s nice during summer because you can swim with them too. But I prefer cooler seasons when there’s less people.
Needless to say, Labradors have a soft spot for food. When there’s a lot of people having picnics on the beach during summer time, you just have to run after Jessie all day long and apologise to anyone she stole food from.
There’s rocks around that forms a shallow pond for dogs don’t like to swim that far. Zani loves to lay down in the pond and watches Jessie swim.
SOMETHING EXTRA:
There’s a great fish & chips place called Levendi at Wollongong 20 minutes from the beach. We always order the grilled fish with lemon and herbs, ohhh yummmm! And there’s quite a nice view too.

All in all, Little Austinmer is a great place to spend some quality time with your fur babies. You won’t regret it!
